Maple Guild

Sweet Tree Holdings – Island Pond, Vermont

The Sap-to-Sale Story

he Maple Guild started with a rare discovery: a private equity firm realized it owned nearly 468,000 taps across roughly 16,000 to 24,000 acres of Vermont sugarbush. Unlike maple companies that bulk-buy and blend from many farms, The Maple Guild taps its own trees, boils its own sap, and bottles everything itself, making it the largest single-source producer of organic maple syrup in the world. We helped launch the brand and a full product line, from its proprietary "Steam-Crafted" syrup to butters, barrel-aged vinegar, teas, and maple water. Our work spanned brand, product, retailer and consumer strategy, packaging design, event management, and a robust digital and earned media push.

The work paid off. At national shows like Natural Products Expo, our exhibitor activations drew large crowds and won the show's Best of East Press Award. Backed by targeted digital and earned media, this NEXTY-winning brand posted fast growth and a bigger retail footprint. The ultimate proof: it grew valuable enough to be acquired.
