Public Relations and Communications Intern
Location: Greenbelt, MD/Denver, CO (In Greenbelt for an Internship – Remote possible, if freelancer)
Position Types: 1099 Contractor (Hours as based on work)
-OR- Paid Internship (2-3 days/week at Approx. 10-15 hrs/week)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Intern to join our team and contribute to our PR efforts spanning food and beverage, real estate, and nonprofit. This internship offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced creative environment. This role will work closely with two experienced public relations professionals, providing learning into the ins and outs of public relations while allowing room for growth and innovation.
Responsibilities:
Draft and send media pitches under team guidance.
Build and maintain media lists, ensuring they stay accurate and relevant.
Regularly conduct media and social media monitoring, observing for trends and compiling client mentions.
Maintain and update media trackers to support client reports and team updates.
Support content creation, including press releases, reporter briefs, social posts, or blogs to complement earned media efforts.
Conduct research on industry trends and help identify the right outlets and reporters for client stories.
Explore inventive ways to integrate AI technologies into our creative processes.
Provide general administrative support to the team, as needed.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or related field.
Strong interest in the media landscape, news cycle, and current events.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a sharp eye for detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to track multiple tasks and deadlines.
Proactive and genuinely curious about how media works and why certain stories resonate.
Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, X) and an interest in how digital content supports broader public relations efforts.
Must be able to work onsite at our Greenbelt, MD office for a minimum of 2-3 days per week.
