Podcast Editor (Freelancer/Internship)

Position Overview:
We are seeking skilled and detail-oriented Podcast Editors to join our production team. This could be a freelance, remote position and/or an in-office internship where you’ll play a role in polishing audio and video content and helping our shows sound and look their best. The ideal candidate has strong technical editing skills, a good ear for pacing and clarity, and a passion for bringing out the voice of each show.
Responsibilities:
Edit raw podcast recordings into polished episodes, ensuring high-quality sound and pacing.
Remove filler words, background noise, and technical glitches while maintaining a natural flow.
Mix and balance multiple tracks, including host, guest, and music/FX elements.
Collaborate with producers and hosts to ensure episodes meet creative vision and brand standards.
Add intros, outros, ads, and other required production elements.
Create 30-60 second social clips from the episodes.
Deliver final audio and video files in the correct format and on schedule.
Maintain organized project files and follow established workflows for consistency.
Qualifications:
Previous experience editing podcasts or audio projects (portfolio/samples required).
Proficiency in at least one professional audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Reaper, Audacity). Please specify which tools you are most comfortable with. Most of our recording are on a platform called Riverside and we use Wondershare Filmora to polish.
Strong understanding of audio mixing, EQ, compression, and mastering basics.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver clean, professional-quality audio.
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
Creative problem-solver who can adapt to different show formats and tones.
Bonus: Experience adding music, sound design, or creating social media cutdowns.
